#Choose To Smile ...

Last night, the atmosphere at home was tense and uneasy, and I knew I had to do something to change it.

With two daughters, five years apart, both discovering their personalities and learning how to communicate, things can get pretty challenging. I realized I needed a little help to lighten the mood.

So, I turned to the internet! I searched for some good, clean jokes. It was a simple idea, but once I started sharing those jokes with my family, the change was instant.

The tension melted away, replaced by laughter and joy that still warms my heart as I write this blog.

If you've ever faced moments where the energy around you just feels off, awkward or...if you're dealing with the ups and downs that come with a brain injury, I have found that a little humour turns things around.

Laughter truly is medicine for the soul—and it's great for the brain, too!

Here are a few jokes that brought some smiles to our faces and I hope they brighten your day as well!

If you don’t keep me, I’ll break. What am I?

A promise.

There’s only one word in the dictionary that’s spelled wrong. What is it?The word “wrong.” It’s the only word that’s spelled W-R-O-N-G.

What question can you never answer yes to?

“Are you asleep?”

What goes up but never goes down?

Your age.

I am always running but never get tired or hot. What am I?

The fridge.

If you threw a yellow stone into a blue sea, what would it become?

Wet.

What bank never has any money?

A riverbank.

What belongs to you but is used most often by everyone else?

Your name.

I sometimes run but cannot walk. You follow me around. What am I?

Your nose.

What do you find at the end of a rainbow?

The letter W.

Remove my skin and I won’t cry, but you might! What am I?

An onion.

Did any of these jokes make you smile? I hope so!

This is just one small way I take back control of my environment—by finding something that makes me smile. It’s healthy for the mind, body, and spirit.

More positivity to come!
