Opportunities to Learn!

Have you ever wondered what the difference was between the mind and the brain? I’m going off on a bit of a tangent but I just had to share this excellent definition that I found!

“Brain and mind are not the same! Your mind is part of the invisible, transcendent world of thought, feeling, attitude, belief and imagination. The brain is the physical organ most associated with mind and consciousness, but the mind is not confined to the brain.” (https://www.sharecare.com/health/teen-perspective-learning-and-memory/what-difference-between-mind-brain)

Just love that definition! Brings absolute clarity on the difference between the two!

Let me get back to the point of my blog today.

Mistakes! Everyone makes them right? Even if you don’t want to admit or accept it - no one person is perfect. In fact we are perfectly imperfect! and I admit it - I am perfectly imperfect!!!

I looked at the definition of ‘mistake’ and came across the following definitions:

· an act or judgement that is misguided or wrong.

· to be wrong about or to fail to recognize something or someone.

I recently made quite a huge mistake that stopped me in my tracks. It forced me to reflect long and hard on the issue (and I will share it soon) and I realised that it didn’t just happen! There were warning signs that I either ignored or didn’t finish acting on that could have prevented me from experiencing this mistake.

I have come to the realisation that I need to just do one thing at a time! Start and finish one thing before I move on to the next. I need to get that!! Start and finish one thing!

Don’t move on until it’s done! Any interruptions will be written down and done after I have finished that one thing that I am doing at that time. #FinishThatOneThing! As I finish that one thing my life becomes a life of design , a life that I am designing and in control of. Rather than reacting on the unexpected and allowing that unexpected event determine and define my day!

From now on that is no longer happening!! I will manage that by scheduling time to address interruptions - which includes calling people back at certain times during the day. I’m going to give that a go from now...I will keep you updated! Share any learnings that you have started or stopped doing as a result of a mistake...I look forward to reading about it.

#I Choose to finish and focus on one thing at a time!

#I Choose to seek what I can learn from all my (good and not so good) experiences!

#I Choose to live a life of design and not one of default!

#I Choose to smile and be grateful for each new day that I am blessed to experience!
