What Matters Most

I’ve been listening and soaking my self in a song called ‘Omemma’ by Chandler Moore, it’s become one of my favourite songs. The Afrobeat rhythm makes it lively and engaging, but the depth of the lyrics carries a message that’s so much more profound.

It tells of a Shepherd’s determination to leave the comfort and security of the 99 sheep that he could see, to search for that one lost sheep.

To me, this story is about love, commitment, and courage—it’s a reminder (using this story as an analogy) that everyone deserves to be sought out, cared for, and valued.

Life often calls us to make a similar choices: to pause and consider the one person, situation, or goal that needs our extra attention, even if it seems inconvenient. It could even be a friend going through a difficult time, a personal goal that’s been neglected, or even our own mental or spiritual well-being that needs to be nurtured.

We’re all that ‘one lost sheep, at some point in our lives, hoping that someone will make the effort to bring us back on track….God is always willing and waiting to do just that!

3 Things to learn daily:

  1. Practice empathy - Take a moment to listen even to those who may not be seeking your attention. Just that one small act of kindness can uplift someone who feels unseen. In turn it will give you a reason to smile.

  2. Take random steps out of your routine - Give your self the permission to 'at times' step out of your routine. Doing this, with a purpose can help you focus on what matters most in that moment.

  3. Value each step - Each action you take, no matter how small has the potential to impact not just you but someone who just needs 'that'. Know that your efforts matter, whether they're seen or unseen.

    #IChoose What Matters

#IChoose to value every step, big and small as I recognise that it has the potential to impact someone who maybe in need even if doing this is not seen by anyone #ButGod
