When Knowing Is not Enough!

Have you noticed something?
You know what to do…
and yet it still doesn’t happen.
Not because you don’t understand it.
Not because you don’t want to move forward.
But because something, somewhere, interrupts it.
You think about sending the message.
You’ve already told yourself:
Just take one small step.
You know it doesn’t need to be perfect.
You know clarity often comes after action.
And yet…
The step still doesn’t happen.
And this is where it becomes interesting.
Because this isn’t just overthinking.
It’s something slightly different.
A Subtle Gap
After reflecting on this more deeply, I began to notice something.
There seems to be a space.
A small, almost invisible gap between:
What we intend to do…
and what we actually follow through on.
The intention is there! Because my intention was there!
The awareness is there. Because my awareness was present!
Even the desire to act is there. Because for me my desire was not questionable. It was definitely there!
And yet…
Something interrupts it.
Not loudly.
Not dramatically.
Just quietly enough to go unnoticed.
It Doesn’t Always Look Like a Problem
What makes this difficult to recognise is that it doesn’t always look like something is wrong.
From the outside, everything appears fine.
But internally, there can be:
• hesitation
• unfinished actions
• decisions that stay open longer than they should
And over time, something subtle begins to happen.
A quiet questioning.
Why didn’t I do that?
I meant to…
What's wrong with me...
Why can't I follow through on things...
Don't I trust myself enough...
A Thought I’m Beginning to Form
I’m beginning to wonder whether this isn’t just about discipline or motivation.
But something more subtle in how our thinking carries forward.
Or… doesn’t.
For a while, I didn’t have language for this.
But I’m starting to see it more clearly.
There is something about:
The ability to carry intentions forward to completion in everyday life.
A Thought to Carry With You
If something still feels stuck…
Even when you know what to do.
Pause for a moment.
Not to overthink.
But simply to notice.
What interrupted it?
Ask yourself and answer this question.
Because understanding that moment…
may be the beginning of something important.
More on that soon.
